Well, it's been a while since i've updated my blog and there has been so much going on. Quinnlee is 6 months old today and just keeps growing. She now wieghs about 17 lbs and is almost 27 inch. long. I can't believe how time has flown and how big our little girl is. She has started eating solid food. She's not quite sure how she feels about it yet, but we're still working on getting the spoon in the mouth and swollowing the food. Her favorite so far is sweet potatos, givin she's only tried those, peas, avacado's and bananas. She is such a curious little thing, always watching and taking in all she can.

This past week she has started rolling over both ways. I put her down next to me and the next thing I know, she's on the other side of the room. She is also sitting up all by herself, with the occational tip overs. Next thing I know, she'll be crawling! She really needs to slow down.

She is not sleeping well at night (neither are we), waking up every couple hours for her binkie, so we took the binkie away... only at night time. (yeah, call me crazy!) When she wakes up at night now she just has to cry herself to sleep. These past few nights have been very long for all of us, but she's starting to learn to sooth herself back to sleep. She doesn't take good naps during the day either, so I will give her her binkie to go to sleep, but if she spits it out and starts crying, she has to cry herself to sleep. Today, she slept for 2 hourst so I think it's working. This has been the hardest thing I have had to do since she was born, but i'm taking desperate measures so we all can start sleeping better.

Jacob has started finishing our basement (bless his heart), so in just a few short months we will all move down there and Quinnlee will finally have her own room. I can't wait!

Jacob has been working so hard lately. His business is busier than ever and it's success has been such a blessing in our lives. He works all day, then comes home and works on the basement. I know he works so hard for his family and I am so grateful for all he does... even though I wish I could spend more time with him. Thanks to both of our families who have given us some down time to spend with them and just relax!

My Mom decided to start an annual Valentine's party for our family. This year we all got together(exept for Uncle Eric, he had to work) and and went bowling. It was so fun to have everyone together and the kids laughing and having so much fun. Even Quinnlee and cousin Grant had fun watching everything that was going on around them. Thanks Mom... this will be such a fun tradition!

Meagan and Preston came over to my Mom's house while Quinnlee and I were there visiting. This was the first time Quinnlee and Preston had played together.... they hit it off very well!

Last weekend most of Jacob's family came home and my wonderful mother-in-law took us swimming to 1000 Springs in Hagerman. Quinnlee had never been swimming before so we were really looking forward to seeing how she would like it. Well, she LOVED it. We bought her a little innertube and she stayed in that thing in the water for over two hours. She had so much fun splashing and watching all the other swimmers. Her favorite was to watch the kids jumping off the diving board. She was so happy to be in the warm water surrounded by all her family. Thanks Grandma Brown, We Love You!





So that's us in a nutshell (well, kinda) from the past few months. Now that I have internet at my house, and all my pictures in order I will start being better about updating my blog. Well, hopefully.

We have been so blessed these past couple of months. Jacob's business is booming with success. He works so hard and even though we don't see him as often as we would like, we are lucky to have such a hard working man in our lives. Thanks honey!

Quinnlee is 15 weeks today... 3 months and 1 week. At her well baby apt last month she weighed in at 12 lbs 12 oz and was 24 1/2 in long. I know she has grown a ton since then! She loves to smile and giggle and loves to talk to us. She has discovered that if she puts her lips together and blows out it makes spit bubbles... she thinks it's so funny! This last week she has been waking up every couple hours at night just for me to put her binkie in her mouth. Last night was the first night in a few weeks of a full nights sleep.

I set Quinnlee down on the couch so I could go make her bottle... I must have taken too long because she fell asleep.

She is getting so good at holding her head up. She doesn't love tummy time very much but it's staring to pay off. She'll be rolling over in no time.

She loves to play in her bouncy chair, but only when I'm in the room. She has grown quit attached to her mother and hates it when I leave her side!

This is her warm winter outfit one of my friends bought for her. It keeps her nice and warm when we go outside.

Quinnlee's favorite thing in the whole wide world.... Bath Time! She will spend hours in the tub if I would let her. She kicks her legs and splashes and then giggles when she gets us all wet! It's actually our favorite time of the day... it's when she's the happiest!

Quinnlee and her Dad love spending time together, but when Dad's on the phone and being boring, this is what happens! This is also what happens when Dad's in charge of keeping her awake for the last few hours before bed time!

I am so grateful to all of our family and friends who have a part in making our lives and our business such a success. We are more blessed at this time in our lives then ever! We never take for granid all that the Lord has blessed us with. A roof over our heads, food on the table and health in our bodies! Not to mention, wonderful families and friends who we know we can always count on! Life IS Good!

Our Sweet Baby

Quinnlee is now 7 weeks old today and is growing right before our eyes. She weighs somewhere around 10 lbs, but i'm not quit sure how tall she is. She loves all the attention we give her.. if we're in the other room, she'll cry until we come and talk to her. She has discovered her voice and she LOVES to talk. She is so curious about what goes on all around, she'll just sit and look around for the longest time. She is constantly moving... kicking her legs, moving her arms... she never holds still. I think that means once she starts to crawl or walk... she's never going to slow down. She is so active and she loves life! (who wouldn't at this age... you get everything you want)

I have such a wonderful husband. I am so grateful for the father that he is and for all he does for our family! I love you Jacob!

We love our baby girl and are enjoying every second of watching her develop and grow! Time goes by so fast so we cherish every moment we spend with her. We are so blessed and so grateful to our Heavenly Father who has entrusted us with one of his precious children. Life just doesn't get any better than this!

These pictures were taken when she was about 2 weeks old. We don't have a lot of current pictures of her but hopefully soon I will get some posted. She is now 5 weeks old and weighs a whopping 10 lbs 1 oz. I can't believe how fast she is growing! Jacob and I are enjoying every second of her and we are so blessed to have her in our lives. She sleeps 6 hours at night (most of the time) and she's starting to smile at me when I talk to her... it is so fun! She is everything we could have asked for and more!

Our Adventure

Well friends... she's finally here and she's everything we've ever dreamed of. Quinnlee Dawn Brown arrived August 26th, 2010 at 7:43pm. She weighed 7lbs 6oz, and was 21 inches long. However, it was no piece of cake.... 9 days later and an unexpected C-Section, she finally decided to join our family.

For those of you who are curious, let me tell you about our adventure to get little Quinnlee here. My doctor had gone out of town the week of the 22nd, so he wanted me to go to the hospital for an ultrasound and and non-stress test to check to see if the baby was doing well since she was now a week and half overdue. On Thursday the 26th, I went to the hospital for what I thought would only be a quick appointment. They did an ultrasound then sent me to labor and delivery to be hooked up to monitors to check baby's heartrate. The nurse came in and check to see how far I was dialated and I was at a three... let me remind you that the Monday before I was only at a 1 1/2. It took a few hours for the results of the ultrasound to come back, so all the while I layed in bed hooked up to monitors. I started feeling some contractions come and go and as the time passed they kept getting worse. 3 hours later, the doctor came in and informed me that the ultrasound results read that my amniotic fluids were pretty low. She checked my cervics again and I was already at a 4. So she told me, ready or not, your having a baby today. I called Jacob and my mom to come to the hospital because we're having a baby!

At 1pm they started me on antibiotics because I tested positive for Group-B Strep and at 5pm they broke my water. By this time I was at a 5 and thats when I requested an epidural (thank goodness for those). It took the anestesiologist nearly 20 minutes and 2 different tries to get it in, finding out that I have scoliosis and my spine is curved to the right. He finally got the epidural in, but my right side wasn't numbing, I could still feel the contractions pretty bad only on one side. They tried giving me more, laying me on my side and nothing was working. My contractions were coming so fast they were right on top of eachother, so they gave me medicine so slow them down, but thats when baby's heartrate went sky high. The doctor was concerned and told me of the possibility of a c-section. She said she would watch us for a while to see if it would go down. She left the room, and not even 30 seconds later she returned and said she needed to get the baby out NOW! They rushed me into the O.R. started to prep me for the surgery, but my right side was still not numbing. They pushed more and more drugs into me, and when I could still feel the doctor pinching my right side, she said "put her out, we've got to get this baby out now". That was the last thing I remember before they put me to sleep, so when I woke up I was in a panic wondering if my baby was okay. They wouldn't give me any details until I had woken up all the way, but later I found out that when they took Quinnlee out, she wasn't breathing for 30 seconds so they had to resesitate her. They got her breathing and she was able to go to the nursery to be cleaned up. I wasn't able to see her for over an hour, but luckily her daddy didn't leave her sight. They wheeled me back into my room where I was able to meet my little angel for the first time.

That's all you may think... nope. The next morning, the doctor came in and told me that before I had gone into labor, I had a fever which I still had at that time. They were concerned that the baby may have gotten an infection so we were to stay at the hospital for 5 days where her and I would both receive antibiotics through I.V. We were so lucky to have such wonderful nurses and staff who took such good care of us. I remind you that I delivered at Bingham Memorial Hospital and it was the best experience... the food was great, the service was outstanding and I got whatever I wanted at just a push of a button. The next Tuesday, we were finally able to go home. Thanks to my wonderful mother, I didn't have to stay there alone when Jacob had to go back to work. I LOVE YOU MOM!

So now we are home, Quinnlee is now 2 1/2 weeks old and is healthy as ever. We are so blessed to have her in our lives. These past two weeks have been quite emotional yet so wonderful, getting to know our precious baby and starting our own little family. She's on a great schedule and I'm finally getting the hang of being a mom... It's the best feeling ever!
